Practising Claudia

This week I decided that I would practise my Claudia make up look before I did the final shoot. I thought that the practice went well and was pleased with how my ideas came together. The make up worked well. Although it was a very simple look I think that it was very beautifying and glamorous, and was the effect that I was trying to achieve. Unfortunately my model struggled to apply the white contact lenses so I could not see the overall look. I just hope that for the final shoot she will be able to apply the lenses.

When following my original make up designs I had made the eye make up quite smokey and sexy. Originally this was the look that I wanted to achieve because I was trying to make it look glamorous. However after the practice I think that it was slightly too smokey. I am trying to make Claudia look like a student studying the art of becoming a witch. I think that the eye make up was too heavy, so in the final shoot I will tone this down. I was pleased with the way that the cheek make up turned out, I think that it soft, age appropriate but still looked put together. I think the rest of the skin make up worked well as it looked flawless but fresh and healthy. I also thought the lips worked well as it they soft and pretty. Overall I thought the make up practise went well, it was also useful as it allowed me to see the parts of the look that I did not like so much which allowed me to improve on my designs. I also practised the hair which is very simple and I was quite pleased with it. However I thought that it could be improved by slightly curling the hair under, rather than leaving it perfectly straight. In the shoot I will remember to change this.

I am looking forward to creating this look in the shoot, and think that it will go well.
